Located on the site of the former Archaos Nightclub in Glasgow, our client CA-Ventures commissioned us to design a 197-bed purpose-built student accommodation.

The design of the building will complement the surrounding streetscape and seek to offer a bridge between the old and new and result in a built form that acknowledges its subservience to the historically important buildings found within this conservation area.

Given the current condition of this neglected early 19th century building, these proposals present themselves as an opportunity for improvement-by restoration and redevelopment. With the carefully considered massing and aesthetics It shall both respond and seek to harmonise the local characteristics found in the area.

Recognising the importance of life quality, several external spaces are being created at various levels to enhance the lifestyle of the inhabitants and boasts panoramic views across the city. With the elevated garden approach to these roof terraces, this building shall reciprocate by offering a diverse, active, and green outlook for the occupants of the surrounding buildings and streets.
