A period farm property in rural Fife, the client had only just purchased the property when we were asked to undertake an entire remodel of the existing property alongside an extension/conversion of the existing outbuilding to offer much needed additional floor space.

The internal alterations provide a complete reworking of the internal spaces to move the bedrooms upstairs and lounge space downstairs whilst also providing a gym and home office facility.

The extension utilises the existing stone façade of the outbuilding with the new elements set within to provide a contrasting visual by way of high quality cladding materials erupting from within the historic stone. A metal sheeted corrugate roof was selected as a ‘tip of the hat’ to its agricultural heritage.

Renewable technologies such as Solar panels to the roof and an Air Source Heat Pump are proposed.
