Despite the title of MD, Niall is very much hands on in terms of the daily work within the practice. His wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and extensive network of contacts in the industry are an asset to any project team.

For Niall, architecture is about the joy of solving problems and finding the precise balance of aesthetics and functionality.

He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company but also working on a wide range of projects from concept through to post completion. With a proven track record spanning over 20 years in the industry, he has overseen the design and delivery of a diverse range of projects from life science R&D facilities, hotels, leisure and conferencing facilities to education, student accommodation, residential and domestic sectors.

Rupert Fleming

Rupert is a design led, and BIM (building information modelling) focussed Architect with very strong technical skills and awareness. He has 20 years of professional experience in an award winning commercial practice.

After graduating with a BArch (Hons) from Sheffield University in 2003 and a MArch at Dundee University in 2008, Rupert has built up a substantial portfolio of work across a wide variety of sectors, both new build and working within existing buildings.

Rupert has designed, and delivered a vast range of projects from residential extensions to hotels, leisure, and large scale office developments within listed buildings throughout the UK. He has also completed various animal enclosures at Edinburgh Zoo including the Penguin Parade and the Meerkat Entrance Plaza and delivered over 2000 bed spaces on many notable PBSA projects.

He will always seek to maximise the value of a site and particularly enjoys working closely with our clients to ensure that the optimal design solution is achieved whilst meeting the project brief.

Richard Lewis

Richard Lewis

As technical director, Richard is responsible for the management of the detail design phase of our projects. His keen eye for detail coupled with his cost aware approach and technical proficiency ensures our clients receive the maximum commercial gains. Richard is passionate about combining his position as technical director while keeping an active involvement in the day-to-day delivery of projects as he feels this is the best way to ensure working knowledge of current legislation.

Over the past 20 years, Richard has accrued tremendous experience designing and delivering a wide and varied spectrum of award-winning projects such as large-scale residential and mixed-use developments; sympathetic restoration of listed buildings; Care Homes for the elderly and even a new beach resort in the Caribbean.

Combined with his role as technical director, Richard is also responsible for developing and maintaining the practice BIM protocols, ensuring we continue to be at the forefront of industry standards.

Richard Lewis

Alan Robertson (BARCH(HONS), PGDip, ARB, RIBA, RIAS)

Alan studied at Edinburgh College of Art, gaining honours in 2011, before completing his Postgraduate Diploma at Edinburgh University in 2012.

A technically minded architect, but with an eye for design, he brings 10+ years post qualification experience with a proven track record of managing and delivering various scale projects across a variety of industry sectors up and down the UK.
The varying demands of project scale and typology has resulted in Alan working successfully as project lead or as part of a wider team, demonstrating collaboration and detailing skills with his flexibility, technical aptitude and Revit capability contributing to the delivery of multiple projects.

Supplementing a significant background in pbsa & other managed accommodations,  Alan’s broad spectrum of project typology has given him experience of working on the refurbishment/conversion of traditional listed buildings, large scale new build dwellings, new retail unit developments alongside higher education and commercial building projects. Most recently Alan has been project lead on the delivery of a large-scale residential development in the heart of Edinburgh and a variety of co-working schemes throughout the UK.
